This is the extensive instruction and
reference manual that came with the "kit"! Note the clear and detailed
English instructions. I actually sent a scanned copy of this to someone for
translation and what came back confirmed what I first thought: this wasn't going
to be much help.
So I had to arm myself with a lot of reference material and fortunately I had a
reasonable source of written and photographic information at hand. The
internet also was a huge help.

This photo came with the kit and obviously
depicts both versions.
A beautiful model of a beautiful car.
Footnote.
When I bought this kit, in 1998, I was lucky in that only 200 of each type were
being made by the small business responsible and it was only a matter of weeks
after I received mine that production ceased. The price (in Australian dollars)
was almost $200 per kit at the time and I consider myself fortunate in being
lucky enough to get one of each.
This is NOT a kit that I would recommend to
anyone who (a) has not had experience in scratch-building and (b) is not
prepared to persevere with what could end up being a pain in the bum job!
Reference material is also an absolute must.
Having said that, I am prepared to sell the second of the two I bought. Contact
me if you are interested.
Oh, the difference between the two models is that one represents the Type 49 at its racing debut at Zandvoort in 1967 (the one in the background above and the one I built) and the other (foreground above) is the car as raced in Jim Clark's last F1 GP....South Africa, 1968.
